Step 1
To replace your couch cushion foam, start by measuring the length, width, and height of your existing cushion from seam to seam. Keep in mind that the foam may have lost some volume due to wear and tear, so pull the cover slightly to get accurate measurements. Make sure to measure twice to avoid any mistakes and extra costs.
Step 2
Once you have your measurements, it’s time to adjust them or add a Dacron wrap. To create a full-looking cushion with a snug fit, you’ll need to add 10mm (1cm) to all sides, including the height. For example, if your cover measures 500x500x100mm, your foam should measure 520x520x120mm (or the nearest thickness available). Alternatively, you can choose the Dacron wrap option, which doesn’t require any adjustments.

Step 3
It’s important to choose the correct density and hardness for your foam. For seat cushions, which have to endure more weight and traffic, it’s recommended to use a high-density foam, 30 Density and above (30kg/m3+), to enhance longevity. Back cushions, which carry less weight, can use a medium density foam, 20 Density and above (20kg/m3+). The hardness of the foam will affect how the cushion feels – harder foam gives more support, while softer foam provides pressure relief and a plush feel. The thickness of the foam also affects its hardness.
Step 4
Now that you have your measurements and foam specifications, it’s time to select the Foam Cut Size option on our online store. Enter your measurements in millimeters, choose your desired density, and select the Dacron wrap option if needed. You can order and pay for your new foam online without leaving your couch. Enjoy your newly refreshed couch cushions!
